CONFESS WHAT YOU BELIEVE

CONFESS WHAT YOU BELIEVE

Main text: Romans 10:10 – For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

1 John 4:15 – Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God; God abides in him, and he in God.

Our life is a sum of the words spoken. What you say is what you get. In other words, what you confess you will possess. Use your mouth as an instrument of life, not death. You are literally words away from your harvest; don’t let negative speech short-circuit your breakthrough. Speak the Word only! God works through us by His Word through our lips. So to confess Christ is to acknowledge Him and declare your profession of faith in Him. It involves a Believing heart and confessing mouth. A confession with the mouth that does not have its basis in a believing heart is a mockery and an insult to God. Confessing Christ is important. It is not an option for us to consider, but a command for us to obey!

The confession of faith is confessing what God has said, even when we haven’t seen the fulfillment of the promise. That’s all that God asks us to do, to say the same thing that He has said in His Word. When we confess God’s promises, we express our faith in God; and then God is able to work on our behalf. Jesus Himself overcame Satan by quoting Scripture to him, saying “It is written…It is written…It is written” (Matt. 4:1-11).
If we doubt God’s Word, we make God a liar. But when we confess God’s Word to Satan, we take sides with God and His Word against Satan and his lies. In that way we also tell Satan that we believe that what God has said is true, in spite of what our circumstances and our feelings may be telling us.

A CLOSED MOUTH IS A SEALED DESTINY.
