LET GO OF YOUR PAST
Main Text: Philippians 3:13 – Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the price which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
Isaiah 43:18 -“Forget the former things, Do not dwell on the past “NIV
God wants us to focus on our strengths and not on our weaknesses, our victories not on our losses, our joy not our problems. We should pay attention to what we focus on –our goals – and magnify the works of the lord, by this we forget whatever lies the devil has in stock for us.
For the devil wants each of us to concentrate on how far we have fallen (in the past) rather than how far we can rise or we have risen. He wants us to focus on our past instead of our future and on how far we have gone and still have to go rather than how far we have come, he wants us to think about how many times we succeed.
We have all done things of which we are ashamed and we live in the tension of what we have done. I believe if we stop living in the past, we can begin to live in agreement with God and thereby speak in agreement with him .By so doing we can actually prophesy to our own future.
Brother don’t dwell on your past rather grow in the knowledge of God, by concentrating on your relationship with him now. Realize that you have been forgiven and made God’s righteousness in Christ.
THE RECOVERING OF THE PAST IS IN THE FUTURE
PRAYER: Daddy, help us to forget the past and face squarely the future. Amen.
