PUT ON YOUR GARMENT

PUT ON YOUR GARMENT

Main Text: Ephesians 4: 24 (KJV)

“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”.

Romans 13:14 – But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

We may not want to admit we are still wearing some of those „old clothes (attitudes, past times, and practices), but the truth is we cannot put on new ones, until we take off the old ones. Furthermore, we cannot hang our old clothes, in the closet for a rainy day, or leave them on the floor to be trapped over. We have to get rid of them. “Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires. We cannot put on the new self, created to be like God. Put off falsehood, and speak truthfully.

We should not let the sun go down while we are still angry, and we should not give the Devil a foot hold. He who has been stealing, must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. We must not allow unwholesome talks or grieve that Holy Spirit of God in us. We must get rid of bitterness, hatred, malice, etc. and all the works of the flesh mentioned in Gal. 5: 19-21. Above all, the love of God and forgiveness must rule our hearts.
