LOOK INTO THE MIRROR; CRITICISE WHAT YOU SEE

LOOK INTO THE MIRROR; CRITICISE WHAT YOU SEE

MAIN TEXT: GALATIANS 6:3-4

…If anyone thinks himself to be something when he is nothing; he deceives himself but let each one examinee his own work..

Lamentation 3:40 – Let us search out and examine our ways and turn back to the Lord

This study calls for self examination. When you look into the mirror, what you see ofcourse is yourself and to criticize yourself is to critically and objectively examine yourself without fear or favour. Examination is a measure to test the knowledge or proficiency, so when we examine ourselves as Christians, we determine the level of our faith and try to prove ourselves to know if we are still in alignment with God and His will.

We must periodically assess ourselves to ensure that they continue to give honour to God and equally ensure that others give Him glory as we remain in the faith – 2 Cor 13:5. The life of a Christian is a continuous process of drawing closer to God. Regular examination of ourselves will help us to improve and become better Christians. Our faith and spirituality can grow if we help them.

Self examination is important because every day we are becoming either more like Jesus or less like Him. So we have to strive to be conformed both internally and externally by the power of the Holy Spirit to the nature of Christ for the purpose of constant communion with God.

SELF REFLECTION IS CRUCIAL FOR SPIRITUAL MATURITY
