I AM NOT UNLUCKY

June Day 29 Saturday

I AM NOT UNLUCKY

MAIN TEXT: ISAIAH 44:2

This is what the Lord says-he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. (NIV)

JEREMIAH 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. (NIV)

It is very important that we, who are made in the image and likeness of God, should study, meditate and know God’s word, his mind and heartbeat concerning us. The word lucky means something favourable happening to someone by chance while unlucky is something unfavourable happening to a person by chance. As a child of God who has studied and meditated on God’s word, I should know that I am not a child of chance but a child of God’s divine plan and purpose.

The word unlucky should never be used by a child of God no matter the situation. The main text makes me to understand that before I was conceived, conceived and born, God already knew me, chose and made plans for my life. This means that God knows my name and I am his (Is. 43:1). So, no matter what I am passing through, God is aware of it and has promised to see me through them all (Is 41:10) so, I am NOT

UNLUCKY but FAVOURED because God is involved in my cases and is working everything out for my good, he is also involved in yours.

All we need to do is to lean on him who know us from our mother’s womb and graciously brought us out. We should continuously praise him for that situation whether good or bad (PS. 71:6), knowing that even if a nursing mother forgets and not have compassion on the suckling child of her womb, God has promised to show us favour even in that situation.

I AM NOT UNLUCKY BUT UNDER GOD’S DIVINE PROGRAMMING

PRAYER: Oh Lord my God, let your grace see me through every trying moment of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
