WAITING ON THE LORD – SEASON OF PREPARATION

WAITING ON THE LORD – SEASON OF PREPARATION

Main Text: Acts 1:4

“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised which you have heard me Speak about”

Hebrews 10:36 – You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Waiting can always make us impatient, but there are always good things to do and learn when we wait. Jesus knew this when He told His disciples not to leave Jerusalem but wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

They waited in anticipation and excitement and seemed to understand that when Jesus told them to wait, He did not mean that they do nothing. They spent their time praying and fellowshipping with God in addition to their other chores. They had been waiting to receive the Holy spirit and as they waited in prayer, and worship the Holy Spirit descended upon them.

As we wait on God, we should not be idle or impatient. We should rather pray, worship and fellowship as we anticipate what He will do. The waiting prepares our hearts, minds and bodies for what is to come.

GOD IS WORKING MIGHTILY ON OUR BEHALF

Prayer – Father God, in our struggles remind us that the seasons of waiting is not in vain. Reveal your loving handiwork in our lives.
