REFUSE TO BE MYOPIC
Main Text: Mark 10:51
What do you want me to do for you? Jesus asked him. The blind man said, Rabbi, I want to see.
Acts 13:2… The Holy Spirit said, “set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I called them”.
Being myopic means to be short- sighted, lacking foresight or intellectual insight. It simply means the inability to see clearly the things that are far away or being unable to understand a situation. There is a spiritual and physical rule that we must take seriously, which is “As far as your eyes can see, belongs to you”. God knows the power and benefits of sight, for this reason God gave us eyes and a great understanding.
In the early church, thanks be to God for those
that saw and understood the time to send out Saul and Barnabas to the Gentile
nations. This foresight was a great achievement to the spreading of the gospel
of Christ. They didn’t allow the segregation between the Jews and the gentiles
blind their understanding to what God is saying and about to do.
Being myopic can deprive us that honour that
awaits us in the future. The decisions you delayed to take can put you in perpetual
debt or regrets in life. The risk you have been avoiding to take, might lead
you to trouble too. It is said that, it is very risky not to take risk.
