What needs to be accomplished in our lives and circumstances is not going to happen by might or power on our part, but it will be done by the Spirit of God as we place our trust in Him. God gives us the Holy Spirit as our divine helper. He enables us to do what we need to do and He does what we cannot do. We are partners with God. He has a part and we have a part. Our part is to trust God and do whatever He leads us to do and His part is to accomplish what needs to be done in our lives and work on our behalf. God will not do our part and we cannot do His part. This is one of the most important lessons we must learn in life unless we want to be frustrated most of the time.
Many people believe that to survive in this world, a person must be tough, strong, unbending and harsh. But God says that we cannot achieve much by our power and might, but by His Spirit. This means that it is only through His spirit that anything of lasting value can be accomplished. As you live for God, determine not to trust in your own strength and abilities.
We are believers and our duty is to believe. We usually think we should be doing or achieving something, but if that were the case, we would be ‘‘achievers’’ and not ‘‘believers’’.
