LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF

MAIN TEXT – GALATIANS 5:14 “For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”.

MATTHEW 7:2 –
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”

Sometimes one of the most difficult things to do in life is to smile. We are surrounded by a world filled with hate, bitterness, jealousy, envy, and violence, and we are to smile about it? The kindness that transfers to another when we genuinely smile at them has tremendous influence.

“Love thy neighbor” is not as hard as it looks on the surface. It simply means respecting others and regarding their needs and desires as highly as we regard our own. Keeping this commandment, however, is likely to require the supernatural assistance only God, through Christ, can provide.

The most important thing is to seek God in prayer, asking, “How would You have me love my neighbor?” And asking Him to empower us to do so.

GIVE GENUINE LOVE AND IT SHALL COME BACK TO YOU

PRAYER: Oh God, the Father of love, teach me to love my neighbors as I love myself. Direct me and give me the grace in Jesus’ name. Amen.
