LIVE A CONSECRATED LIFE
MAIN TEXT: Romans 6:13 – Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Exodus 19:22 – Also let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves, or else the Lord will break out against them.”
Consecrated means “set apart.” Those called to consecrated life are “set apart” by God for this particular way of life which “expresses the deepest nature of the Christian vocation and the yearning of the Church as the Bride for union with her sole Spouse – Christ Jesus.”
Frances R. Havergal (1874), gave us what it means to be set apart for God in this hymns, “Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,” Romans 12:1 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
What have you given up for the glory of Christ in this world? Consecration to God is a life of full sacrifice. God is a jealous God and doesn’t want to share us with any person or god.
SET YOURSELF APART FOR GOD IN HOLINESS
PRAYER: I pray for grace to be a set apart vessel of God. Let every contamination in my life be washed by the blood of Jesus Christ Amen
