THE JUDGMENT SEAT
Main text: Revelation 20:12 –‘And I saw the dead, great and small standing before the throne and books were opened. Another book was opened which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done a recorded in the books’
‘All nations will be gathered before Him and He will separate the people from another as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats’ – Matthew 25:32
The judgment seat connotes a day of judgment when God who is the righteous judge will bring to account every deed done in flesh by man. Judgement day is imminent. At judgment, there will be a separation of the godly from the ungodly (believers in Christ and the unbelievers). Are you among those who carry on as if God does not exist? Beware! We (dead or alive, rich or poor, black or white) will appear before the judgment seat of God to account on how we lived our lives here on earth. The righteous will receive their crown of glory and the unrighteous to receive the punishment due them. Do not live your live as though there is no consequence. God is keeping record of all of our activities and no one who is a sinner will escape the judgment.
There will be no bribing at it. Judgment will be given to anyone whose name is not found in the book of life. Are you born again but still live a life of compromise? Or you are yet to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your lord and personal saviour, there is still an opportunity for you to make a turn around and accept Him in your life. He is God who does what He says and cares but He is also a consuming fire. If you do not accept Him or mend your ways now while you are still alive, you must face Him in death when, there will be no more mercy or repentance.
REPENT NOW AND ESCAPE CONDEMNATION LATER
Prayer Point: Lord, help me to live a righteous live that I may receive a good reward at the end of the day.
