GOD IS OUR DEFENSE
Main Text: Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are save.
Psalm 71:3 “Surely, He will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the noisome pestilence”.
From our main text, we recovered the assurance that when we go to God in prayer in times of trouble we will be saved. When faced with battles, whether big or small, physical or spiritual, the greatness assurance to overcome and escape the trap of the enemy for any child of God is by calling on the name of God;
Philippians 2:9-10, “For He was given a name above every other name that at the mention of His name, every knee must bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth and things, under the earth…. The name of Jesus surpasses and is greater than any other name on earth and in heaven, because of the power in that name, to conquer everything and anything.
God doesn’t love anyone more than the other.
It is rather the amount of love and commitment we give to God and our service to Him that makes our grace level bigger and higher.
Christians need to know, and understand and learn how to operate with the power in the name of Jesus, the power in blood of Jesus and their rights as children of God and joint heirs with Christ.
God is our defense, but we ought to know how to call on Him. We should have the courage and confidence when calling on God that He can hear us and answers our prayers even without a pastor. We should never allow ourselves to be bullied into silence and self- pity by the agents of darkness before calling on God on our knees.
God already has given us the power above these problems, our ability and bravery to use the power to determines our victory.
HE THAT KNEELS BEFORE GOD CAN STAND BEFORE ANYONE
Prayer: Dear God, give me the courage to use the power which you have already given me.
