BUILDING A GODLY ALTAR

MARCH 10, SUNDAY

TOPIC: BUILDING A GODLY ALTAR

MAIN TEXT : Romans 12:1 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”.

Second text: 1 Peter 2:5 (KJV) – “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”.

An Altar is a raised structure or body where sacrifices and offerings are presented to God.

God calls us His Temple and where two or three are gathered in His name, He’s there in their midst. When you understand that your body is God’s temple, you prepare it to serve the purpose of which it’s created.

As a Godly altar, you present yourself as a living sacrifice. All you do will be to the glory of God. Colossians 3:17.

The following are the requisites to building a Godly Altar: You must be born again. John 3:7 Abhor sin and set your affection on things above 1 Timothy 2:19, Col.3:2 You must be conscious of whom you are in the Lord.

Maintaining a constant fellowship with God keeps you active and useful in God’s hands. Praises, prayers and Holiness are the sacrifices made in this altar. Psalms 150:1, 1 Peter 2:5, 1 Timothy 2:20-21

Every temple has an altar and as the temple of God your heart is the altar of God, is your heart ready and holy for the Lord Jesus Christ?

LIVE A LIFE THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO GOD

Prayer: Oh Lord keep me on fire for you and let my life never bring disgrace to your kingdom and your name.
