EXAMINE YOUR FRUITS

MARCH 8 FRIDAY

EXAMINE YOUR FRUITS

Main text: Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law”.

Matthew 12:33 (KJV) – “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit”.

From our inside text, we observe that “the tree is known by his fruit”. This means that if the tree is good, the fruit must be good; if the tree is bad, the fruit will definitely be bad.

A man’s life is best described by his lifestyle whether good or bad. In the same way, the life of every Christian is determined by their lifestyle. Jesus said in John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches…” – Christ is the tree and we are His branches. A branch does not bear its own fruit but that of the tree. This fruit is seen in our main text. No one effectively bear fruit without being born again; this is why John the Baptist in Matthew 3:8 that we should bear fruits worthy of repentance.

A genuinely repentant soul must bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Have you changed within and without? Does your fruit attract men to worship God with you? Or scares them? Examine your fruits!
