LET YOUR WORDS PRODUCE LIFE

LET YOUR WORDS PRODUCE LIFE

MAIN TEXT:     Ephesians 4: 29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Colossians 4:6

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (NIV)

There is power in spoken words. It is by spoken words that that God created all living and non-living things, visible and invisible. The bible says, “know ye not that ye are gods?” Knowing that you are a god, you have to be very careful about what you say. However, I want to remind you that your words are not only the words which proceed from your mouth; they include what you write, paint or sign.

Knowing these therefore, what kind of words do you produce? Are they words that produce life or those that produce death? The words you produce depend on what you fill your heart with. If you set your heart on God, love, life changing issues, your words will produce life to yourself or those you speak them to, but if you set heart on evil your words will produce evil.

A self-righteous heart produces judgmental words, a bitter heart produces acerbic words, an ungrateful heart produces a grumbling tongue. As a man’s heart is, so he is. Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). Always let your words give life to the lost, hope to the weary and courage to the weak, words that will sweeten, heal and strengthen shaky marriages and families and those that can spread the gospel.

YOUR WORDS REPRESENTS YOU, SPEAK POSITIVELY

Prayer Point: Oh Lord sanctify my mouth, that I might speak life in Jesus name.
