Main text: Psalm 92:13-15 – Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; to shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Psalm 72:7 – In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
Righteousness means right standing before God. On the other hand, the wicked is that fellow that stands wrong before God. He is not a partaker of divine justification and he lives by choosing what opposes God’s will and things that don’t glorify God on the earth.
God’s word cannot be broken, and He has promised that those who stand right before Him shall flourish. But what does it mean to flourish? It means: to bloom or blossom; to spread or grow; to fly (as extending the wings); to break forth; to break out; to spring up. The scripture makes continual reference to the life of man as a plant. So for a plant to flourish, it has to be positioned properly to receive water, light, and all the nutrients it needs to bloom.
So also a man properly positioned before God the source of life.The uncompromisingly righteous shall grow up and flourish in all he does, regardless of challenges faced, they keep on going and keep on growing. The righteous are upright, strong, and unmoved by the winds of circumstance, just as properly positioned plants are not uprooted by the wind. If you place your faith firmly in God, then you too can have and enjoy this strength and vitality.Psalms 1:3 says that the man who trusts in the Lord and delights in His word is, “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.” So if you are properly positioned before the source of life, then you can be rest assured that as you grow older, you can expect to grow stronger; to increase, not decrease; to continue to bring forth fruit; to be fertile and productive and prosperous; and full of joy.
