BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS
MAIN TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:14
For the time is coming when Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light
2 Timothy 4:3- For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching… but will accumulate for themselves teacher to suit their likings:.
In the world today, the most lucrative business and the earliest and the quickest means of making money in through the church business. Anyone who can perform miracles and is elegant in praying becomes the “happening Man”. People cluster around him without minding his source of power. Many get deceived and exploited easily. The apostle Paul warned against this time in 2 Timothy 4:3, that a time would come when people would prefer “light” spiritual meals and would not tolerate substantive teaching. He predicted that false prophecy would increase and be embraced by many, because it waters for the needs of their flesh. They have a craving to be entertained and desire prophecy that leaves them with good feelings about themselves. As believers, we are expected to be steadfast in our faith, not seeking self gratifying prophecy.
Similarly, in our main text for today, the Bible makes, it clear to us that the devil transforms himself into an angel of light and his servants appear to be people who are promoting unrighteousness. Our spiritual enemy would love to have followers of Christ distracted by false prophecy, but as we keep our eyes on Jesus and the clear teaching of the scripture, our Lord can keep us aimed in the right direction.
Don’t be tricked by false prophets.
STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD AND YOU WON’T FALL INTO “ERROR”.
