LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY

FEBRUARY 8 FRIDAY

TOPIC: LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY

MAIN TEXT: “For I know he will commend his children and household after him. And they shall keep the way of the Lord”– Genesis 18:19 (KJV)

Second text: “But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord”- Joshua 24:15c (KJV).

What legacy will you be remembered for as a child of God when you leave this world? Will you be remembered for the number of cars you bought or the houses you built, your travels across the globe? If your hope is only on the above mentioned then you are of all men most miserable. All earthly properties and achievements are inelastic because once the cotton closes on a man his benefactors may decide to sell off his earthly properties.

It teaches us that we are separated from all these once we give up the ghost. We should choose otherwise to lay up lasting treasures that will stand the test if time.

There is a song that says: you will be remembered by the works you have done on earth. What are these works? Are your works compromising or sincere before God. You can win a soul for the Lord today.

You can sharpen the countenance of your Christian neighbours by encouraging them with the scriptures. You can use the talent or gift that God has given you to change the lives of many for Christ.

The bible tells us that our reward will be meted to us according to the kind of work we did here on earth.

Thrive to live a worthwhile legacy while you are still living.

Prayer Point: Oh Lord, help me to live a life that is pleasing unto you. Amen
