SAY NO TO MALICE
Main Text: Galatians 5:19-20
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, uncleanness, variance, emulations, wrath, strife……….., of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which live like this shall not inherit the kingdom of God”
Galatians 5:16
“This I say the, walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”.
The oxford Advanced dictionary defined malice as a feeling of hatred, that causes a desire to harm. From the above text, malice is the work of flesh, of which if you yield to the things of flesh, you will reap corruption, death but if you yield to the spirit, you reap life. (Galatians 6:8). Apostle Paul was no stranger to this type of battle between flesh and spirit, until he cried out: “I do what I don’t want to do, what I hate seems to be a fact of life.”
Thank God, it had been done through Jesus Christ our Lord. He has set us free (Romans 7:15-25). Malice as the works flesh originates from impure thoughts, hatred, anger, complaints, envy, criticisms, the feelings that everyone else is wrong except those in your own group.
Beloved of God, the keys that can help you to triumph over these works of flesh are forgiveness, because when you forgive, you will experience joy, peace that would not come to you through any means. God commanded you to forgive your neighbor for all hurts, aches, abuses, and disappointments,
-Prayer and fasting will help you.
-The word of God is another key. The psalmist said “Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee: (Psalm 11:11)
-Praying in tongues will help you build up yourselves in the Holy Ghost (Jude 20)
MALICE SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU: FOR YOU ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE.
Prayer Point: O Lord, help me to be a doer of your word, and not a hearer only.
