POWER OF THE CROSS
MAIN TEXT: Colossians 2:14 – Having cancelled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
Romans 6:8 – Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
The cross has the power to create in a person the love and desire for what is right and pure. The cross of Christ is the basis of our salvation. 1 Corinthians 1:18 reads, ‘for the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.’ The gospel of Christ and the message of His crucifixion are inseparable.
There remains an eternal cancelation of the legal charges against us, these charges were barriers to us until Jesus Christ came and nailed them to the cross. It is our belief on the finished work of Christ on the cross that empowers us to live freely and gloriously just as God made it to be.
Sadly, some Christians have not applied the finished work of the cross to their lives. Our glory is from the cross and this should stick to our hearts and tongue all the days of our life. The devil does not like remembering what happened on the cross and how he was defeated publicly. There is no sin that survives at the cross of Christ and this is our victory in Christ.
ALWAYS TAKE YOUR BURDENS TO THE CROSS OF CHRIST AND LEAVE THEM THERE.
