WHILE MEN SLEPT
Main Text: Matthew13:24-25 – Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field; But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Luke 18:1- And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
The greatest danger that man faces in the spiritual world is what happens when he sleeps. From the beginning, the devil’s mode of operation has been to kill, to steal and to destroy (John10:10). As Christians, we need to be watchful and vigilant in our Christian journey through prayer and not slumber. The bible tells us that the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour. (1Peter 5:8).
Today, some are exhausted and worn out spiritually. There is need to be watchful for the enemy is always active, awake and attacks in our weakest moments. It was while men slept that the enemy crept in and sow tares among wheat to stop their harvest. If they had not been asleep, the enemy would not have sown tares.
When the enemy sows tares among your blessings, he stops you from your harvest. God wants you to diligently seek Him and not to be lazy and slothful. Prayer is a necessity for daily victory. This is what keeps the tare from being sown. There is alot of carelessness in the church today. Many are asleep spiritually. Many are living unrealistically, in illusion, thinking they are awake spiritually, but they are asleep. Let us be awake and do our very best in the Lord’s service.
