WHAT GOD BEGINS, HE COMPLETES
Main Text: Philippians 1:6 – Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 138:8 – The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
God continues working in us, developing, perfecting and bringing to full completion, the work He has begun. The work which God has begun in us is the work of salvation. God begins working in us the moment we receive Him into our life. He begins working in our hearts, attitudes, beliefs, fears, pride, and all of our human nature. He tends to them as well, watering and nurturing them as seeds so they can bring forth the fruit of the spirit.
Zerubbabel, Joshua, and the people commissioned to rebuild solomon’s temple struggled within themselves and were discouraged as they looked at the ruins of Jerusalem. As they were about to throw in the towel, the word of the Lord came that they should be strong and work and that God is with them.These powerful prophetic promises propelled them forward.(Haggai 2:4-9).This is God’s promise to all who are called to labour with Him. He does not tell you to begin something and then leave you halfway through it. God is a wise builder and an expert craftman.
Many of God’s children today are weary. Budgets have been tight, resistance is strong. The devil is busy trying to abort God’s promises. You may have been tempted this week to resign from your faith. Be encouraged today that everything which God started in you will be completed.
TAKE COURAGE! THE LORD IS WITH YOU.
