PUT ON THE GARMENT OF PRAISE – PART 1
Main text: Psalms 34:1 – ‘I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth’.
Psalm 69:30 – ‘I will praise the name of God with a song and will magnify Him with thanksgiving’.
One song writer wrote, ‘when praises go up His blessings come down’. Did you get that? As our praise goes up to God, the cloud of His presence form and rain of blessings begin to fall on us. There are no clothes called praise but it denotes an attitude of praising God in every situation.
You may have been shattered, battered and harassed by difficulties that appear as though you do not know what to do anymore, stop and praise God. When we wear the garment of praise, we are announcing to our challenges and problems that our God is bigger than them. When you praise God, you stay ontop of your situations. Operating in the atmosphere of praise places you in-charge of your situation and increases your chances of victory. Praising God in the face of problem does not mean a denial of those problems but it helps you see things through God’s eyes.
The time we live in especially, are trouble times, a time of global economic hardship, terminal diseases, unemployment, political instability, insecurity, insurrections, religious killing and many other social problems. These are times of pain and unpleasant memories in the past months. As a Christian, you must learn to praise God in whatever situation you find yourself. Rather than murmuring, complaining and allowing depression thoughts, praise God in songs and words.
‘PRAISE RAISES OUR FAITH LEVEL. DO IT MORE OFTEN’.
Prayer Point: Lord, clothe me with the garment of praise so that I may continually stay on top of life challenges.
