BECOME A BETTER YOU

MAIN TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 6:17
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

JEREMIAH 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Beloved of God, for you to be really redeemed of the Lord, you must adopt a new way of living.
One thing that can come upon a new creature in Christ is the departure from curses to blessings.

Apostle Paul encourages us to be transformed rather than being conformed to this world of sin (Romans 12:1-2). The truth of the matter is that only those who are in Christ can experience the new things God promises us in His word.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

When a person accepts Jesus as His or Her Lord and Saviour, such a person automatically become dead to the old life, every link with the old life is cut off. Every new creature in Christ submits to His Lordship.
From the point of rebirth, we begin to hunger for righteousness by pursuing purity, honesty, justice, love, humility and service to humanity. It starts from a new mind. You immediately begin to think differently from the old ways to such an extent that your new behavior and a better you may seem strange, even to you. This new life in Christ comes with the assurance of abundant life here on earth and even in heaven.

THE LIFE THAT IS TRANSFORMED BY CHRIST STANDS OUT

PRAYER: Father, as a new creature in Christ, please help me to always live according to your word in Jesus Name. Amen.

GOOD COUNSEL PROFITS

JANUARY 27 SUNDAY

Topic: Good Counsel Profits

Text: Proverbs 27:9 (KJV) “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel”

Second text: Proverbs 11:14 (KJV) – Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety

Another word for counsel is advice or guidance in giving a positive result to an issue.

The question is who do we take counsel from? Should we go to everybody for a counsel? The answer is no. The man who gives you counsel, has great impact to your life’s destiny. There are people whom God has given wisdom to counsel others positively, and not everybody.

The likes of Ahithophel gave an evil counsel against David which God turned to foolishness because David is a man after God’s own heart (2 Samuel 15:31). Endeavor to keep godly and Christian friends around for such a time like this. Is not every counsel that should be taken we should assess the counsel we are given by other in line with the word of God.

Proverbs 11:14 – “where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety”. If the counsel you are given is not in agreement with the word of God, do not adhere to it because its result is destruction.

Above all let the Holy Spirit of God, give you direction and may you be sensitive when He speaks – He is the best counsellor.

Seek to know the person of the Holy Spirit because He is all knowing.

Prayer Point: Oh! God, guide me aright today in Jesus Name. Amen
