WORK YOUR CROWN

WORK YOUR CROWN

Main text: 2 Timothy 4:8 – ‘Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge shall give me at the day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearance’.

‘I press unto the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus’ – Philippians 3:14

A crown can be said to be a reward for victory or a mark of honour. It can also be royal imperial or princely headdress. It is usually worn by a king or queen.

Our being on planet is not by accident, we are here as Christ’s representatives, His ambassadors and as such we should live a life worthy of emulation. In a track or fields events, athletics focus on the prize or trophy to be worn at the end of the competition. Before the competition, the athletes train hard in order to win the race. We as Christians, we are also in a race (heavenly race) and at the end; we shall be rewarded with a crown of righteousness. For us to be rewarded at the end, we must obey the will of God our father, not just being born again – as everyone professes to be born again and become church goers and become bench warmers. We should make ourselves relevant in the house of God. There are different departments in the church in which we can render services to God.

Any Christian who wants to be rewarded with a crown of righteousness should be disciplined and try to live a life of holiness and righteousness, obedience to the will and commandment of God, prayerful and let the fruit of the Holy Spirit be found in you.

GOD IS REWARDER OF THEM THAT DILIGENTLY SERVE HIM

Prayer Point: Lord, help me to diligently serve you and not to relent.
