SUFFICIENT GRACE AT WORK

SUFFICIENT GRACE AT WORK

Main text: 1 Titus 2:11 – For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.

Ephesians 1: 6 – 7 –  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have heard many definitions of grace but none of them can adequately represent the realities of the depths or truths of the grace of God. By man’s description it is impossible to put into human language the spiritual realities we see and experience in Jesus Christ. Grace is defined as a divine attitude and attribute of God’s heart. The underlying meaning of this is that God looks upon our weak and pitiful life and finds us unbelievably attractive. Grace is the working of God in a human life to set him apart and equip him for effective service.

Most Christians today and many unbelievers as they come to Christ stumble over the grace of God. There are so many who try to come to God through good works. The very nature of grace is that it is free and cannot in any way be earned. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. (Rom 11:6).

“For grace to be grace, it must be free. If one must do something to earn it, then it is not grace, but works. Grace is free, and salvation is by grace, through faith.
