HEAVEN
MAIN TEXT: JOHN 14:2
“In my father’s house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you”.
2 Peter 3:14 – Wherefore beloved seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.
As redeemed children of God, our greatest longing, should not be for that which is temporal, but for that which is eternal. Jesus describes our heavenly home this way “In my father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you”.
This world is not our home the journey is not the destination the vessel is not the goal, those who are content with nothing more than the Joy of the Journey are settling for too little satisfaction. There is more to life than this life. If on earth lies our hope, then we are of all men most miserable because everything in this world is passing away. Every other ground is sinking sand, but there is a beautiful place called Heaven where Jesus had gone to prepare for his bride and saints which will be revealed when our journey have on earth is over.
May we not be found waiting, and may God help us not to be the five foolish virgins but, the five wise ones that will keep their oils burning ready to meet the master.
