BIBLICAL FORMULAR FOR HAPPINESS
MAIN TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 9:11 (KJV)
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance, happeneth to them all”.
Psalm 37:4 – Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Are you the kind of person who needs clear answer to everything and cannot tolerate shades of gray? Well, the truth is that we do not have answer for much of what happens in the world. God stamps many of the issues we struggle with.
Modern science would have us believe that given enough time, everything is concrete, exact, measurable and provable. But it has been discovered that it is not so. An example, why does one family experience tragedy and another does not? Why do the ‘haves’ throw away more food into the garbage every night than what it would take to feed the ‘have nots’? Why do the young and innocent die? These questions could drive one crazy, and still not find answers to them, what should we now do? The Bible says, eat your foods with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart for it is now God favours what you do. Ecclesiastes 9:7-10.
Happiness is truly a choice. It is not necessarily the outcome of our life events.
