LIVE TO LOVE
MAIN TEXT: COLOSIANS 3:12
Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience:” (NIV)
1 John 4:16 – ‘And so we know and rely on the love God has given us God is love; whoever lines in love lives in God, and God in him”. (NIV).
Love is the commonest but most precious gift you can give to or receive from people. View love as the bedrock of any successful relationship. God’s love is the most powerful force the world has ever seen. And as a follower of Christ, it is up to you to carry the force and keep it burning.
It’s good to quote scriptures, pray long articulate prayers in public, study theology and attend church but only when people see your love will they be impacted by your love. Love in expressions, and not in words is the true test of your discipleship. The love of Christ teaches us to make it our life responsibility to love others. Living a life of love means that we should commit our lives to the welfare and joy of other people. Living to love means living to give the Love that Christ gave and to achieve the result that Christ achieved which is deliverance from every shame or reproach.
The love of Christ is a seed in us to transfer same to others in order to continue to spread the good news of salvation. The old order says “tooth for tooth, eye for eye” but Jesus came with a new order and commandment to love your neigbour as yourself. It demonstrates the unconditional love God shows us then calls us to love one another.
LOVE SHOULD GOVERN YOUR LIFE DAILY
