HE PAID IT ALL
Main Text:1 Peter 3:18- For Christ also hath suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit.
Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All human anguish can be traced back to the entrance of sin into the world when our first parents handed over the title/document of this world, which they received from the creator-God, to Satan through their disobedience to their creator’s instruction.
In I Peter 2, the Apostle says that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross not only paid sins penalty but also broke its power. Apostle Paul, after listing terrible sins wrote to Christians in Corinth “such were some of you, but you were washed (2 Cor 6:11). Jesus makes bad people good. We need not therefore worry about sins/faults in our lives and should not allow them to get us down or depressed. Instead we should admit their presence, commit them to the Lord in prayer and trust him to give us victory over them.
Christ’s Sacrifice on the cross did not just pay for our sins but also for the consequences of our sins. Therefore by His death, He paid for our poverty, sickness, oppressions and captivity. His death on the cross gave us an all-in-one solution to all that plagued mankind. He indeed paid it all that we might go free. All we need do is simply receive by faith, this finished work of salvation.
