PRAY IT THROUGH
Main verse: Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receive, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
1 John 5:14: This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
At times we pray for a thing and it seems to go from bad to worse and we wonder, why? In those moments, you have to learn a prayer strategy. You have to learn how to pray through it. It is in this time that your faith level will be stretched. During this time, you can’t let the devil come in and make you think it is not going to happen. David said, “I waited patiently on the Lord…” The doctor’s verdict is not what you want to hear, but God brought you here to tell you to pray through it! How do you form the words when the anxiety and sorrows of life’s crises push in? And how do you pray through?
First we need an understanding of the root course. It could be a satanic attack. If it is, you need to discern it clearly, and take a posture of battle. It could be by human circumstance, in which case, there is no demon to cast out or to cast down. We can ask the Lord to give us discernment to recognize what we are dealing with, but it’s not always easy to find that discernment quickly.
When we call out to Him, He hears us, and He knows the dilemma of our hearts. He doesn’t only listen when we pray “on target.” He listens to our hearts. But there are certain principles worthy of our learning, that we might refine our response to circumstances and pray effectively.
