Faithfulness Profits
Main Text – Proverb 28:20” A faithful man shall abound with blessings but he
that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished”.
Luke 16:12 – “And if you have not been faithful in what is another man.s, who
will give you what is your own?
The parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 and the parable of Minas in Luke 19:11-27, is a clear illustration of our today.s devotional study. According to Alex Harris “Being faithful in the smallest thing is the way to gain, maintain and demonstrate the strength needed to accomplish something great”. This saying explains better the parables above. His Lord said to the man who traded with five talents, and obtained five more; “Well-done, good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few thing, I will make you ruler over many things. “Enter into the joy of your Lord”.
The parable of the Minas is even stronger, where the servant who collected ten minas gained more ten minas. A Mina is not even much, about 50 shekels is about (#5,015.18) in Nigeria currency. Yet the master considered it worthy to reward his faithfulness by putting him in charge over cities. That sounds a lot more significant. Edwin Louis Cole has this understanding that, “your faithfulness makes you trustworthy to God”.
Beloved, our master is coming back soon with greater reward in His hand! Wow! Can you imagine being ruler over even one millionth of all that Christ has? Wonderfully! What are you doing with the minas that He entrusted to you?
