BUILD ON SOLID FOUNDATION
MAIN TEXT: ISAIAH 43:2 “When thou passest through the water, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”.
PSALM 9:9 – “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble”.
Sometimes we have a sorrowful experience in life, which seems like walking through a long dark tunnel. At this time, we can only fix our eyes on the bright light at the end of the tunnel and comfort ourselves with the thought that every step we take brings us nearer to the joy and the rest which lies at the end of the way. One thing is that man always expects God to come into the scene with flash of lightning and thunder that will shake our very soul. But (Isaiah 43:2) we read, revealed that though you may not see lightening nor thunder, yet God is there for us, wow!.
The year is about to end, your pathway may seem to be darker than before; that shows that your brighter hours are at your door. Ignore every devilish suggestion to blow out the lamps of divine promise which you have. There is nothing left to us than to grasp the very hand which brought us so far and push forward. No retreat!! God’s ways are not our ways but they are infinitely better. Finally, like Bunyan’s Pilgrim, we can only say, “I see that my road to heaven lies through this very valley”.
THOSE WHO HE LOVES, HE CHASTENS.
