TAKE DOMINION
MAIN TEXT: COLOSSIANS 1:6
―For by Him all things were created are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether throne or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him‖.
Psalm 8:6 – You have made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet‖.
As God image bearers in creation, we are intended to act as His representatives. We are designed in a very real way, to show the world what God is like. When God created you, He explains His will for you on
earth so that you (man) would have dominion. Our main text tells us that ―All things were created through Him and for Him‖. Then our second text said that ―He made you to have dominion… all things are under your feet‖. Wow!
God owns all things, but he chose to hand them over to you to control. That‘s great, (see Gen 1:28). Therefore God expects you to be responsible and exercise dominion over everything, so as to reflect His character. Note that this dominion God gave to you (us) is spiritual, and not to intimidate the less privileged among us.
This dominion will only be effective and effectual when it submits totally to the will of God. It is all about knowing who you are in Christ and understanding that in you, through Him is the power to lay hold onto the promises of God and possess them until the day of Christ.
Today’s devotional calls you to decide to imitate your Lord in every life’s assignment so that the authority you have from Him will bring Him glory.
DOMINION IS YOUR GIFT!

Holy Spirit, help me exercise dominion to the glory of God alone in Jesus name!
