LIVE ABOVE SELF
MAIN TEXT: ROMANS 12:1
―I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God which is your
reasonable service‖
. Brethren, you are not a creature of circumstance. The world you live in needs understanding so that you do not succumb to material and deceptive lust prevalent in the world. Materialism, lust and power are the devil’s instruments to lead man to sin and be separated from God. For this reason Jesus came to the earth to guide man against going the wrong way.
Therefore, whoever identifies with Jesus, overcomes the devil and will do greater works. Child of God, Jesus is your role model if you must live above self. Jesus told that rich man in Luke 18:22-23 to dispose his wealth and follow him but that man became discouraged because it affected his selfish ego, material wealth and power. Today, many Christians are like that God forsaken rich man.
To live above self is to humble yourself and obey God’s commandments. It is to receive God’s word over issues and receive answers. It requires righteousness and faith.
A PEACEFUL AND UNDERSTANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD EMPOWERS US OVER THE FLESH
Prayer: Spirit of God, empower my spirit to rule over my flesh daily in Jesus name.
