ABIDE WITH GOD TO BE FRUITFUL
MAIN TEXT: John 8:31 – So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine.
John 15:5 – I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
The phrase abiding in Christ pictures an intimate, close relationship, and not just a superficial acquaintance. In John 15:4–7, Jesus tells His disciples that drawing life from Him is essential, using the picture of branches united to a vine
How does the branch bear fruit? Not by incessant effort for sunshine and air, not by vain struggles. . . . It simply abides in the vine, in silent and undisturbed union, and blossoms, and fruit appear as of spontaneous growth. How then shall a Christian bear fruit? there must be a full concentration of the thoughts and affections on Christ, a complete surrender of the whole being to Him, a constant looking to Him for grace.

Being still before God allows the Lord to speak to us through His Word, which is alive and active and exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. It is in this quiet time that we are less engaged with the world and more receptive to hear from God and seek His guidance for the faithful way.
CONSISTENTLY STUDY AND MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD
PRAYER: I surrender all to you Jesus Christ, let the grace to abide in you rest on me Amen
