SHARE IN LOVE
MAIN TEXT: 1 Peter 4:9 ‘’Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.’’
Hebrews 13:16 ‘’And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased’’.
God loves a cheerful giver because, cheerfulness is the outward proof of the state of mind that is filled with love and joy. Whatever you have to give to another must be given with love. Love is the platform where kindness and goodness towards others breed. You cannot give well without loving. When you offer things to people with grudges, you indirectly hurt yourself and may not receive any reward from God.
The scriptures have already taught us to share whatever we have with others, especially, those in the household of faith. It is better not to give than giving without love. Love is a virtue. It is an attitude we should cultivate and display towards other people around us. It is love that made Christ die on the cross. So love should also lead us to share what we have with others. Love is not in the quantity, but in the quality.
And what determines quality is the condition of your heart when you share. You should not act as though without you that person’s life has come to an end. When you give, make sure you do it with gratitude to God for making you a blessing to another person. Sharing in love entails understanding the other person’s need and being willing to release it, because it is within your capacity to.
LOVE IS THE PARAMETER BY WHICH GIVING IS MEASURED
PRAYER: Lord increase my ability to give with love whenever there is need for it in Jesus name. I will not lose my rewards in giving.
