THE TRIAL ATTITUDE

MAIN TEXT: Romans 12:12 – Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer: (KJV)

James 1:13 – Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempted he any man” (KJV).

When someone goes through a trial, what they want most is for the situation to be resolved as soon as possible, which is why in recent times people tend to become desperate and lose their peace. However, God through His word expresses three attitudes that a believer should have in the face of trials. The only way to stand before trial is to wait patiently for God to act in the midst of the situation.

James 1:2-3 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diver temptations; knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience”. Secondly, we must determine to be steadfast to face the suffering side of trial, it is necessary to put one’s feet on the ground and face reality with faith and patience, knowing that however strong the trial may be, God will always be there.

Thirdly, be constant in prayer, as a believer. It is very necessary to persevere in prayer because through it one receives the necessary strength to hope in the Lord. Prayer brings peace and teaches the believer to depend on the Lord every day.

TRIALS ARE FOR THE GOOD OF THE BELIEVER

PRAYER: Oh God! Help me not to get upset and sin, but to wait for you to work in the midst of difficulties in Jesus name.
