MY LIVING WATER DAILY DEVOTIONAL

FRESH OIL
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 20:6-7
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 45:7—You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.
Any engine that runs without the daily check of its oil, is at risk of friction and eventual breakdown. Although we have the authority in Christ, we still need a daily infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills us with the daily life of God. David was a man of valor but he never missed asking God for daily bread, which is the bread of life. Every day the Israelites, ate manna, as the stored up manna was not useful again. In the instruction concerning the old temple of God, the priest was required to remove the ash from the temple daily to permit fresh burning of fire on the altar.
If we must stay alive and active in spirit, then we require daily refilling with the word and fellowship with God. We are not to dwell so long on the mistakes of yesterday as well as the victories, because there are battles yet to fight and victories yet to be won. God’s strategy for yesterday’s battle may not be relevant for the battle today. There is a need to hear from God every day to know what He wants to say. His mercies are new every morning, so we should as well renew our strength, grace, anointing, and zeal daily for effectiveness.
Daily, we must receive a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit, you must always top your oil for everyday’s battle to avoid disgrace. King David was never fit to be king of Israel even though he had killed lions and bear until Prophet Samuel anointed him.
BE REFILLED WITH THE HOLY OIL OF GOD
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, anoint me with fresh oil for today. Renew my strength, grace, and wisdom. I will remain outstanding in my endeavor in Jesus name, Amen.
