WORRY IS A SPOILER
MAIN TEXT: Matthew 6:25
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
Faith in God should lead us not to be anxious or worried about our life, knowing that God has our life in total control. So, we do not need to worry. Mark Twain famously said, “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.” That was Twain’s way of saying, “I’ve caused myself a lot of grief simply by worrying about things that never came to pass.”
Indeed, worry is a spoiler. Our faith in God is enough for us. The psalmist wrote in Psalm 56:3: “When I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Everyone is tempted to worry and practically doubt the abilities of God. When we use most of the time we have to worry, then we gradually kill our faith in God that has the power to change the situation.
Can you allow the promises of God to be fulfilled in your life? Then be a person of great faith. Don’t doubt it, even if it looks impossible – our business is to believe it. God can fulfill what He promised you. Reactivate your faith now and kill the spoiler before it destroys you.
FAITH IN GOD IS JUST ENOUGH
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, deliver me from the destruction of worries. Give me the spirit of faith. I am the living proof of God’s faithfulness in Jesus’ name, Amen.
