ASK AND RECEIVE
MAIN TEXT: Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
Maybe we have experienced times when the Lord did not answer what we have asked Him for. There are people who even say they have tried prayer but given up because of not receiving the answer they hoped for. God always answers prayers. Sometimes, the answer can be ‘yes’, sometimes ‘no’ and at other times, God says ‘wait’. Whatever answers God gives, it is always good.
God will always give us good things. Our job is to understand what is good so that we know what to ask for. The natural mind cannot understand this. But, when we offer ourselves as “a living sacrifice” and are transformed by the renewing of our minds, then we “will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will” (Romans 12:1–2).
When we are asking for God’s help according to His Will, we must come with faith and patience. As the Holy Spirit begins to quicken our spirits while praying, the wisdom of God takes over, and we don’t struggle in prayers or indulge in repetitions out of doubts. Let’s not forget quickly that prayer is for communication with God.
GOD WILL ANSWER YOU WHEN YOU CALL
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, Teach me how best to communicate with God and give me the favor to receive in prayers in Jesus name, Amen.
