TILL CHRIST IS FORMED IN YOU
MAIN TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:13 “Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ”.
1 Peter 5:4 ‘And when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
No man is born an adult. You are not born today, and you grow up the same day. Growth takes steps to occur. It takes a gradual process. Our spiritual birth experience does not take any less procedure. Until you take root in your Christian faith, you cannot handle the bullets the devil throws at you.
It is not sufficient to get born again; you need to allow yourself to begin to grow, and you do this by allowing the word of God take space in your heart. You should also devote yourself to deep personal prayers. You cannot get mastery over the flesh and its desires until Christ is formed in us, we receive power to function in His grace.
It is in place of prayer that we develop spiritual backbone and receive grace to help us in our times of need. Getting the idea? For us to become true soldiers of the cross, we must develop a strong personal relationship with Christ. ‘Till Christ is formed’, meaning, until Jesus begins to mean more than a historic figure written about in the bible, we cannot go far.
LIVING IN CHRIST MEANS LIVING IN VICTORY OVER LIFE’S BATTLES
PRAYER : Oh Lord, may my life be a mirror through which people will see you. Make me the vessel that you boast of, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
