JEHOVAH ROHI

MAIN TEXT: John 10:11—“I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

Isaiah 40:11—“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young”

Rohi (or Ra’ah) is the Hebrew word for “shepherd.” Jehovah is God’s personal name in Scripture. So Jehovah Rohi means “the Lord Is My Shepherd.” Both rohi and ra’ah come from a Hebrew root word meaning “to feed” and came to mean a shepherd who feeds his flock. A good shepherd endures cold, heat, sleeplessness, weariness, and faces danger to care for his sheep. Is God your shepherd?

Having a valley experience sometimes could mean that you will surely reach to the peak of your life. The valley won’t crush you because Jehovah rohi is with you and leading you through. “Though you may walk through the valley of shadow of death”. That challenge came to pass and never to stay. Don’t mistake the process for the purpose. You are in the safe and good hands of God.

This personal relationship between God and His people is a central theme in the Bible. As a good Shepherd, he goes looking for the lost sheep. Are you lost? Make yourself reachable by allowing your heart to be touched with God’s word and voice. He died for the “goats”(sinners) to be saved and become His sheep.

IT IS NOT HIS WILL THAT ANYONE SHOULD PERISH

PRAYER: Let Jehovah rohi manifest in my life. I give you the place in my heart to do your good work in my life and family. God, take charge in Jesus’ name, Amen.
