DESTINED TO MAKE IMPACT
Main text: Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts i think towards you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end
‘For lo, thou shall conceive and shall bear a son and no razor shall come on his head for the child shall be called a Nazarite unto God’ – Judges 13:5
Every human being is created with a destiny. God’s plan for man which is good, points to man’s destiny. In most cases, it is difficult for man to discover God’s plan for him especially when the means to achieving that plan involves suffering, frustration and hardship contrary to man’s expectations. In this situation, only those who are focused and trusting God will persevere and succeed to make that impact. This is why Proverbs 9:10 says that ‘the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding’.
Beloved, great men and women of the bible who made impact stepped on God’s words and lived by faith. Faith here means total dependence in God against all odds. We need to imitate the spirit of the early Christian believers in order to achieve our destiny. The great names we read in the bible are not the only list of names that made impact in their time but theirs was accounted for because their impact was not only encouraging but conspicuously outstanding. Among the great achievers is father Abraham, an obedient and faithful man (Hebrews 11:8) and today, everyone claims Abraham’s blessings. Moses by virtue of destiny became renowned in the world. He performed great signs and wonders in Egypt and God used him to set Israel free from slavery in Egypt. The list of great men and women who did exploits is inexhaustible.
Beloved, the opportunity is still there for you to make an impact. In Mark 16:15, Jesus commanded every Christian of our time to carry the gospel to the ends of the world. He has given believers authority and power over the kingdom of darkness.
