May Day 4 Saturday
WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS?
MAIN TEXT: Proverb 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
John 15:15 ―Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth, but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made know unto you.‖
Who are your friends? God wants to be your best friend. God is your Creator, Maker, Lord and Master, Judge, Redeemer, Father Saviour and much more. Almighty God yearns to be your friend. Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden enjoyed an intimate friendship with God. Moses and Abraham were called friends of God. David was called ―a man after (God’s) own Heart‖. And Job, Enoch and Noah had intimate friendship with God.
Who is in your company as your friend? The bible says; the kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise and five where foolish (Matthew 24:1-2). One outstanding difference between the virgins who made it and those who missed it was wisdom. A wise person is identified by the company or friends he or she keeps.
Among the then virgins, the five wise ones formed a group and kept influencing each other positively; hence none of them was left behind. On the other hand, all the foolish ones formed their own group and no wonder all of them were shut out. By merely seeing the kind of friends you keep, one can determine whether you are wise or foolish.
If you are always keeping friends with smokers, drunkards, gamblers, fornicators, and liars, you will imbibe their traits over a period of time you.
ANYONE WHO CANNOT MOVE YOU TO EXCELLENCE WILL PULL YOU DOWN TO HIS LEVEL
Prayer Point Lord Jesus, I lean on you, to make me your best friend, come now into my life in Jesus name Amen.
