SEND ME; I WILL GO
MAIN TEXT: ISAIAH 6:8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Luke 10:2- Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Send me and I would go is simply yielding to the call of God. God is searching from generation to generation faithful men and women who would accomplish His will and purpose on earth. His kingdom building method is by using people who avail themselves to Him. The men who are called are not extra ordinary except for the fact that they are faithful.
Therefore it is important to commit ourselves and remain faithful so we can appear as ready vessels fit for the master’s use. The “I will go” part is a verb, an action word. Even though some have heeded the call, they are still selective as to the instructions to heed to; this can prove to be very calamitous. A very common bible story is that of Jonah, who refused to go.
Your refusal to go can be the cause of problem for people around you. When Jesus called His disciples, each of them was very busy, but they all promptly heeded. The word of God is quick, prompts and requires instant action. Don’t wait for your own convenient time to go for that outreach. There might be that there is a soul, whom you could have saved, but your refusal to go immediately may result to a negative report. Send me and I will go. Would you go for the Lord today?
