LOOK UNTO JESUS
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 25: 15
“My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare”.
Hebrews 12:2. – “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.
Looking here suggests total dependence and reliance on God at all times whether good or bad. Your ability to look unto Jesus increases your chances of overcoming any challenge that might arise.
For you to look unto Jesus, it calls for your total trust in your maker’s ability to stand in for you. The Psalmist said “My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare”. There are many snares the enemy sets against your feet upon your children, spouse, relatives, friends and colleagues in your office, business location, house and church that you must, like the psalmist look unto Jesus who alone can identify these snares, close them up without them harming you and releasing you, peradventure your feet entered into any. It takes only God to discover where they are hidden for they are not always in open areas where they can be easily seen.
Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. He knows and understands your life’s battles and the strategies you need to win them better than you’ll ever know and of course, He will help you fight these battles. Understand this, there are many things jostling for your attention and worship including your creator, so learn to focus on Jesus.
