HIS NAME’S SAKE

HIS NAME’S SAKE

Main Text: Isaiah 48:11 – For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be profaned? And my glory will I not give to another.

Colossians 3:17 – And whatsoever ye do, in word or indeed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

God values, His name so much that He won’t allow anything to bring shame to His name. The things He does confirms the power and effectiveness of His name. Isaiah 52:6. We praise Him as we call Him beautiful names based on what He has done for us. So, His works is attached to His name which gives Him glory.

For the sake of God’s name, the following happens: firstly, the promises He made unto us come to pass. Isaiah 48:11 – “For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be profaned? And my glory will I not give to another”. Secondly, authority is established – Philippians 2:9-10. Thirdly, we conquer principalities – Acts 3:6 “But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but what I have, that give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Also, Justice is tampered with mercy: John 3:16

Finally, the name of God is Him personified and I see God giving you those miracles because of His name’s sake. And whatsoever done in His name in righteousness gives Him glory. Galatians 6:7

THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST REPLACES EVERY SHAME ATTACHED TO YOUR NAME

Prayer: Oh Lord, may I live to honour your name and may every promise you made in your name come to pass in my life. Amen.
