BE OF HONEST REPORT
Main text: Number 13:30 (KJV) – “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses and said, let us go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it”.
Proverb 12:18 – There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health”
From this scripture, you can tell a wise fellow by the kind of words or reports that comes out of his mouth. Be of honest report. If your words or reports are as sharp as a sword, you are not wise. Let your reports be as medicine that soothes the broken hearted, and gives hope to the hopeless. It is important to know how to give honest reports. Give reports that are mild, soothing, encouraging, and edifying. “Pleasant words are as honey comb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones (Proverb 16:24).
Brethren, whenever you give honest report or speak right, your words will deliver, and bring healing to your hearer. There are certain sicknesses that only words can heal. It is a wise fellow that speaks such words. One reason the wise carefully chooses his word or report honestly is that he shall account for every idle word he speaks. It is wisdom therefore to avoid judgmental reports. Avoid provocative words. A believer who always do not give honest report or who is not in control of his words is allowing destinies to slip-off his hands. Words are not just empty vessels. They carry power. God created the earth with words. People are encouraged or defeated because of words. An honest report to a weary person can change the person. It can turn their whole life around; keep them from back sliding or from giving up, and urge them forward. You must speak the word of God according to our situations and our needs. The word of God coming out of the believer’s mouth is a sharp sword against the enemy.
WORDS CARRY CREATIVE POWER
