LEARN FROM MISTAKES

MAIN TEXT: LUKE 15:17 “At last, he came to his senses and said, “All my father’s hired workers have more than they can eat and here I am about to starve”.

Luke 15:18 – I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.

The dictionary explains mistakes as an action or an opinion that is not correct or that produces a result which you do not want. It is not abnormal for one to make a mistake but what matters most is to discover the mistake and take steps to correct it. A mistake, rightly corrected, propels one to the next level of successful achievement. The bad side of mistake is to remain in it and refuse to embrace correction.

In Acts. 9:5-6, Saul who persecuted the church was converted and chosen by Jesus Christ as a vessel to preach the gospel. Saul realized his mistake and accepted Jesus as Lord and personal Savior. The bible said that Saul went into the Synagogue and preached that Jesus was the son of God. Acts 9:20.

In most cases, dwelling on mistake come from pride, being unable to yield to the truth and the result is usually failure and destruction. Lucifer and his disobedient angels were cast down from heaven because of pride and insubordination. That you are a heathen does not prevent you from becoming a Christian. The Jailer, when he heard Paul called him to order and found out that the prisoners were all intact, turned to Paul and asked what he must do to be saved. Acts; 16:30.

THE MISTAKES OF YOUR LIFE CAN BE FIXED IF YOU MEAN IT WITH GOD

PRAYER – O God, help my unbelief. Have mercy on me and correct the mistakes of my life in Jesus’ name, Amen
